Panel Discussion : Planet vs. Profit : Europe’s Choice for the Next Generation
This edition will open with a panel discussion, followed by the screening of Invisible Hand (2020) directed by Joshua Boaz Pribanic and Melissa A. Troutman and executive produced by Mark Ruffalo.
The panel will explore what "going green" really means in an age of deregulation : how Europe can pursue climate ambition without sacrificing economic competitiveness, what role EU institutions can play in defending nature’s rights, and how environmental protection can remain a binding commitment. We will also look at what a genuine green transition could require — politically, economically, and in terms of intergenerational responsibility.

Isabelle Buscke - Secretary General at Finance Watch
Adélaide Charlier - Climate and human rights advocate, and co-founder of Youth for Climate Belgium. Recognized as a Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree, she has been mobilizing young people for ambitious climate action since the age of 18. Her work spans national, European, and international levels, where she engages with political leaders, contributes to major mobilizations, and develops citizen-driven advocacy initiatives. Through The Bridge, she works to strengthen democratic participation and empower young Europeans to influence EU decision-making. Adélaïde specialized in European politics at the College of Europe and is a recent graduate of the Obama Foundation Leaders Program. She is committed to advancing a just, inclusive, and rights-based ecological transition across Europe and beyond.
Matilda Flemming - Director at Friends of the Earth Europe, a grassroots environmental network across Europe, uniting more than 30 national organisations with thousands of local groups. Before joining Friends of the Earth, Matilda worked in the peacebuilding sector for a decade. She is from Finland and holds degrees in Economics and Development Studies.
Moderator : Amaia Echevarria Canal : Journalist and TV Producer specializing in European affairs, political communication, and multimedia storytelling.
Film Screening : Invisible Hand (2020)
Synopsis : The movie follows four American communities fighting to grant legal rights to nature itself — from a Pennsylvania watershed suing to exist, to Lake Erie gaining legal personhood, to indigenous tribes at Standing Rock facing militarized opposition.
Produced by Mark Ruffalo, the film poses one question : in a world where corporations have rights, why not nature ?
